Cuisine, culture and entertainment
A special treat for foodies! Luxembourg has a diverse restaurant offering with the cuisine form all over the world. A common saying that “Luxembourg restaurants offer French quality and German size dishes” is not a cliché but a fact. The country is home to the second highest concentration of Michelin-starred restaurants in the world and the first in Europe.
The country also makes excellent wines. You can walk through the vineyards on the Moselle and do a wine tasting in many wineries situated near the river. Visit this website to plan your wine trip.
Despite its size, Luxembourg hosts a set of cultural events throughout a year. From music festivals (Blues'n’Jazz Rallye, Rock a Field) to film festivals (CinEast, Luxembourg City Film Festival), art fairs (Art Week) to food festivals, there is something to satisfy all tastes. For families and rollercoasters enthusiasts the Schueberfouer, Luxembourg City’s annual funfair, provides plenty of opportunities to feel the wind in your hair.
In Luxembourg one of the great advantages is just how extensive the number of trails is. You come out of the forest, and you’re in these landscapes where you have these views over the valleys. I think this variety of trails is really fantastic.

170
km of bike paths in Luxembourg City
Luxembourg is famous for its green spaces and beautiful nature – rock formations, lakes, and vineyards.
This allows for stunning hiking trails and 900km of well-marked cycle paths in or around the woods, and – for the more adventurous – 500km of mountain bike tracks, notably in the beautiful “red rock” region in the south of the country.
You can find the best hiking trails here.
Moreover, Luxembourg City’s 170km of bike paths mean you can easily visit the whole city on the bike. All the bicycle paths and bike ride proposals can be found on Luxvelo.lu website. If you don’t have a bike you can rent it or subscribe to use a city bike Veloh!
Last but not least, did you know that you can find over 100 castles in Luxembourg? Some of them are in excellent condition and are the real showcase of the country, for example Vianden Castle or Clervaux Castle.
When I’m not working, I enjoy visiting the Moselle. I love the open landscape and the beautiful views. I come here to walk along the river, having a drink and clear my mind. Having that in this country is an amazing experience.
